Hair Extension FAQs
How much do extensions cost?
Hair extensions, except Combline, currently vary by method and the amount of hair used to achieve the overall end goal. This can be anywhere from $200-$2500
Combline is $400 for the first area and $200 per area after that.
How long do extensions last?
With proper installation and care, extensions can typically last anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 weeks. After each period a move-up maintenance service will be needed. The hair itself can usually be reused up to 2-4 times. After the hair is deemed no longer usable we will need to reorder new hair.
Can I bring/buy my own hair instead?
Here at The Eclectic, we do not allow this. While this may be acceptable in other salons, we do not condone it. We have no way of guaranteeing the ethical sourcing, quality, and quantity of any unverified hair. The hair we use is of the highest quality and is guaranteed to last, not shed, and stay manageable for clients.
Are extensions damaging?
Extensions are not, and should not, be damaging. If applied properly, removed properly, and taken care of properly, extensions should not be harmful ever. With improper methods, techniques, and lack of education all methods can be harmful. Here at The Eclectic we offer so many techniques to best work with the many different textures and density that is a beautiful part of the diversity that reflects in our guests.
Why do I need to fill out a form and then come in for a consultation as well?
We want to best serve our clients with the utmost respect. By doing a form we get to see a glimpse of your preferences and learn more about you before ever even meeting you. Some of our questions also allow us to make the proper educated choice of what techniques are suitable for you or not.
How often do I need to come in for maintenance? I heard extensions are very high maintenance.
This all depends on what type of extensions you are wearing. Typically extensions maintenance appointments are anywhere from 2-4 months. Some extension methods can last longer than others. Keratin tips/fusions/bonds can even be no salon maintenance at all. Maintenance appointments are crucial to maintaining the health of your hair and your extensions.
Hair Color FAQs
Do you do color corrections? I really dislike my hair and need it redone.
This depends on how recent it was done and what was done to it. The short answer is, yes, I do take color correction appointments. I do recommend having a proper consultation in-person before going ahead and booking an appointment. I want to see and feel what I’m working with first.
How should my hair be prepped before I come in?
For any on-scalp colors, such as root retouches, I do recommend coming in with 1-2 day old dirty hair. For any highlight/foil service I recommend coming with clean and dry hair.
How long are color appointments?
This depends on the service you have booked. Some services can be anywhere from 2 hours long and some services are 10 hours long.
What should I wear on the day of my color appointment?
Make sure to come in comfy clothes. You may be in the chair/salon for a long time so we would love for you to be comfortable. No turtlenecks, hoodies, collars, or thick high neck sweaters of any sort.
How often should I come in for retouches?
I recommend most of my color clients to go in between 2-6 months. Maintenance will look different for every client depending on their end goal and lifestyle. I never recommend a client to go longer than 6 months for color.
Does my deposit go towards my overall service total?
The initial deposit you make counts towards your service total. On the day of your service it will be deducted from your overall total. Deposits are non-refundable.
